Happily ever after…

“This is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.”

Wow…What can I say, the realization of winning has finally hit me after I had a good night sleep of four hours.

Well…what I can say is thank you very much to Fairchild, teachers, and judges for making this all possible. Thank so much to my family, friends, and audience for rooting me on during the night and supporting me throughout the show.

Well I guess yesterday was the official Sunshine Nation graduation for all of us Sunshine Boys and Girls.

Alex, thanks for being a BEST friend both on stage, off stage, and right before the stage LOL! Without your support on the last day, I would not have done so well. THANKS SOO MUCH! =)

Basil, always so innocent and kind, truly a pleasure to talk too, and great company! whenever I feel sad or need a good laugh. People like you are few and far between! (and thats a good thing) =)

Iver, LOL so funny and always so carefree! You were like a big brother to me! Thanks for your advice about not feeling nervous on the stage; that advice I kept to heart and it worked! =)

Jack, first guy I met on audition, even before I made it in! Always so friendly and caring, thanks for being the longest friend in this journey, your positive attitude has really changed me! =)

Grace, thanks for being a great big sister, and your singing WAS AWESOME! =) A very kind friend who always laughed at my jokes! (That made me feel really good) Thank you for that! =)

Reika, you truly are a very understanding friend! (esp. those times when i needed your Ipod! JK) Congratulation on winning the Talent Award, you  are a really skilled and gifted girl! =)

Julia, lol SO SORRY FOR STEPPING ON YOUR TOE! Well that aside whew lol, THANKS for being  a great friend, and the best support before every opening dance, lol esp when I crash! =)

Ivy, LOL my partner for catwalk and dancing! So much fun on stage, you made every every catwalk and dance a great experience! And offstage, you were always fun to be around, partner! =)

Angel, winner of both Sunshine Girl and People’s choice Award, I guess I was right, we won it together like in rehearsal time lol! Thanks for being a great person who I could ALWAYS talk too! =)

It’s been a long journey, one that we all have taken together; and one in which we can cherish the memory of in the future. We all worked hard and had a great time and progressed greatly from where we started!

And of course, one final quote to summarize my reaction to this Sunshine Nation journey!

“Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened!”

And thus it ends, happily ever after…

God bless,

Jeffrey Robert Jia Liu

No regrets!

“The only thing you live to regret are the risks you didn’t take”

A month has already gone by ever since audition day. The day where I chose to ignore my fears and give it my all.

I do not regret anything during that day, everything I did, I did with my best and that’s what matters to me. Looking back I would have regretted it greatly if I did not try out; I would have missed out on so much!

Once more, it is time to bring back that attitude towards the final; give it my all and not regret anything no matter the result!

Its been a great month filled with sunshine; experiencing and learning so many new things.

But its not over just yet!

“Never regret yesterday. Life is in you today, and you make your tomorrow.”

God Bless,

Jeffrey Liu

Distance Cannot Suppress Sorrow

Posted:August 15th, 2009  |  by jeffrey

After hearing from the news about Typhoon Morakot which hit Taiwan last weekend,  I subconsciously started to reevaluate my own life.

Over the past few days while the people of Taiwan were being hit with this disaster, I was here in Canada living a relatively peaceful life taking many things for granted.

I remember seeing on the news a woman trying to find out what happened to her sister, she was crying and wailing out to the rescue team to find her sister, to tell her she was safe.

She was just one of the many who have also lost friends and relatives to the sudden disaster. That really made me think about life here in Canada, in Vancouver, regretting the times when I was angry at my sister or brother, at times when I get sad or distraught over the smallest things, or mad over some comment made by a close friend. To often I waste life away, not treasuring what I have, nor the time I have been given.

Can these things I face in my life really compare to what people are facing in Taiwan? It’s times like these where I realize I have a lot and am very blessed to live in a safe and peaceful city. It’s times like these where I feel sorrow for those who deserve more.

So whatever means available, fund raising, donating, or bringing awareness to others about this disaster; all will directly or indirectly help the victims of the typhoon.

I will continue to pray and do what I can to help, and I sure hope you can too.

Thank you.

Friendship – The kind of ship that never sinks!

Posted:August 13th, 2009  |  by jeffrey

“A friend loveth at all times.”

I guess a part of this competition is not only competing with others; but also creating lasting friendships with the people around you.

In my opinion that in itself is the ultimate prize that we have all received and will be able to take away from this competition regardless of how well we do on stage or in the finals!

This competition not only introduced me to new friends, but also uncovered the old ones!!! I thank admins and officers Jacky, Mark (Nice Pic LOL), George, Mason, and Josh for creating a facebook group (even though I do not have facebook). That really moved me after I found out through Mason, so all I can say is I am glad our friendship cannot be SUNK!

AND OF COURSE THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO JOINED!!! IT is always nice to know that when someone is in a time of need, their friends from close and afar all come to support!

There are battleships, there are aircraft carriers, many ships come in all shapes and sizes. But the strongest ship of them all is friendship not built upon steel, wood, or iron, but on the most powerful foundation of all: LOVE =)

Thats all for now, regardless of what happens, with friends like these I will

STRIVE TOWARDS MY GOAL, ALWAYS HOPING FOR THE BEST NO MATTER WHAT LIFE THROWS AT ME!!!

=)

Do you see the powerful friend"ship"???

Do you see the powerful friend"ship"???

BURNING ROCK!!! (stone grill…)

Posted:August 11th, 2009  |  by jeffrey

What is up!?!!!?

A lot IF YOU ASK ME!!!

So for those of you who do not know, YESTERDAY was press CONFERENCE!!!

LOL, I sound so boring… so ill just talk about the one thing i thought was really cool! I thought that the most exciting part of the Press Conference was (drum roll)

EATING!!!!! lol eating at the stonegrill is like walking on the thin line between having a good time and first degree burns, I mean your eating right above not a plate, but a burning  rock (otherwise known as stonegrill, hence where the name of the restaurant stonegrill comes from)

So in this setting you got to be extra careful of your surroundings and of your own movements. ONE wrong move and BAM, your in the hospital!

YEAH then we went to aquarium, and we saw *gasp* fishes, beluga whales, and a gift shop.

THATS all for now!!!!!!!!!!! yup and now too!!!!!! BYE BYE!!! ZAI JIAN!
